Book 16!

The 16th book on my Empty Shelf is "Pet Sematary" by Stephen King. I am not a Stephen King aficionado. I've only now read 3 of his books, the previous 2 being: "Thinner" and "Misery" which I enjoyed. This one however, seemed to be a horror book for horror's sake, but what do you expect from Stephen King?!
Have you read other Stephen King books? Any you would recommend?

Book 15!

The 15th book on my Empty Shelf is "Julie & Julia" by Julie Powell. When I first heard about the movie based on this book I thought cooking every recipe in a book and blogging about it seemed like a lot of fun! I have so many cookbooks and love cooking new recipes! But then I saw the movie, and I realized I would even have to cook the recipes that sounded yucky! No thank you! I don't know how she did it!
Recently I found this book at Dollar Tree, and had to buy it! Have you ever looked for books at Dollar Tree? I've gotten quite a few books from there, some good, some not so much... But always just a dollar, so I'm willing to take the gamble! I am glad I bought this book :) It obviously went into more detail of her year long cooking expedition than the movie did.
Maybe one of there days I'll find a cookbook that I think all it's recipes sound good enough to cook ;) And believe me, I'm typically willing to try just about anything! What about you, are you willing to cook things (like aspics?!) that sound completely gross?

Happy 7 Months Luke!

Today is my nephew's 7 month birthday!
(Bow ties are cool!)
His mommy & I took him on his first trip to Hong Kong Market. My Thai sister introduced me to Hong Kong Market many years ago & I love to go and get new things to try :)
This time I opted for a couple of new drinks to sample. The can is Grass Jelly Drink and the bottle is Basil Seed with Honey Flavor. There are also things I have to get anytime I go: wasabi peas (I eat them on my salads for a spicy kick), shrimp chips, and Hi-Chew for Hubby :)
Who needs to go to the aquarium?! ;)
He loved watching the fish swim around!
Yes I am "that Aunt" :)
We had lots of fun today! It's great to have family you love spending time with! And who introduces you to new fun things!

Book 14

The 14th book on my Empty Shelf is "The Shop on Blossom Street" by Debbie Macomber. This book was not as lighthearted as I had thought it would be. It felt with some tough issues, the most resounding to me was the issue of infertility. As I have wrote about before I have a friend who has had multiple miscarriages & I found myself crying & praying for her while reading this book. I love you & your precious family "mom who used to live downstairs"!
This is a good book, it is the first in a series & I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
