Book 13 - Love & Respect

The 13th book on my Empty Shelf is Love & Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. I was in a young womens small group before I got married, & we studied this book. I have many times credited this book for helping my go into my marriage as a better wife than I might have been. However, I never actually read the entire book! So I knew I needed to rectify that!
This is a really good topic that I would recommend to anyone married or going into marriage soon. I believe this sums up the book very well, "We are not simply about helping you save or improve your marriage. Those can be very important by-products, but the real purpose behind showing love & respect to one another is to glorify God and to obey what He teaches in His Word." (pg 298)

Niece's First Six Flags Trip!

Lynnlea was super excited about her first trip to Six Flags! :)
Big Brother was also very excited to show her around, being the expert he is!
Walk a mile...on... Daffy's shoes ;)
Go Nephew Go!

It's a long way down!

Don't look now, but Daddy has ice cream!
Uh oh, mommy caught us!
My Sister said Nephew started talking about the train when they got out of their car!
Hand-Wringing excitement!
What you see over there Niece?!

Oh, to live life through his eyes!

Pure Joy!
Time for the Bouncing Boots!
Bouncy Bouncy Bouncy!
Hubby & I finally rode on the New Texas Giant! This was the first roller coaster I ever rode, so I've been wanting to get back on it now that they remodeled it! It was awesome!!
They went on the Log Ride while we were in line. Nephew loves water!
Oh no!!! I must protect her!!
In case you were wondering, Fright Fest has already begun :)
The Yosemite Sam ride is always a must!
It was to dark to take pics in the ride, but she was really looking around at all the characters!
Hubby & I felt like Six Flags really stepped up their game this year for Fright Fest! It was reminiscent of Fright Fest when we were younger and we are loving sharing it with a new generation :)

Hot Wheels & Dinosaurs

Yesterday was Riblett #1's 6th birthday!! He wanted a Hot Wheels & Dinosaurs birthday party! Here is his table complete with Oreo spare tires ;)
A fruit loving Long-Neck
Peanut Butter "wheels" because one of his favorite snacks is peanut butter on a tortilla :)
His loving parents are calling everyone to come get hamburgers & Hot Dogs!
Even the cups looked like traffic cones!
And the cake! Rib made this complete with volcanoes, dinosaurs, a Hot Wheel track, & Superman thrown in for good measure!
Riblett wanted 6 candles & the "6" candle :)
Make a wish!
A whole volcano for the growing boy!
They had a great time playing with water guns,
Hot Wheels,
& Dinosaurs!
Then time to open gifts!
Lots of Hot Wheels
Obviously!
So of course, the new tracks needed to be broken in!
To end it all, he climbed up on the van to "surprise" daddy with his water gun ;) I think he thoroughly enjoyed himself :)

Pump It Up for Leah!

This afternoon we celebrated Leah's 3rd birthday at Pump It Up in Arlington. It's bounce houses as far as the eye can see :)
The kids had so much fun!
Here is Riblet #1 enjoying the slide
Big smile!
Nephew loved the obstacle course!
But he couldn't get through the whole thing, so Grandpa JimJim to the rescue!
Rib & the Riblets played a little soccer :)
Then it was on to room #2, which had a climbing wall, & 2 more obstacle courses.
Riblet #2 hopped all the way across!
He's part frog!
Hubby didn't make it as far ;)
Nephew wants to go on the big obstacle course, but he calls for Daddy first :)
Up he goes!
Niece & Nanny were loyal spectators
Next it's time for snacks, cake & presents! Leah gets her own throne!
Leah's 2 favorite things - Princesses & Dinosaurs!
Make a wish!
Look at the happy family! Leah knows how to have a great birthday party! Fun for kids & adults (even if some of the adults limp away afterwards ;) )
