Girl Time

 The sister's had a girl's night to register for baby goodies!

 GIRL BABY GOODIES!!!!! I am going to have a niece!!!!! A little girl to dress up in hair flowers & lace! A little girl to scrapbook with! A little girl to teach the art of egg roll making!

 The Aunts are very excited!!

 You will be one very loved little girl, my precious niece! And I see alot of Hello Kitty in your future!

After we scanned every item Babies R Us had for baby girls ;) The baby was craving Chuy's! Have you ever seen someone so happy about a salad?!

I can't wait to meet my niece! So all of you aunts of nieces out there, what are some fun things I should plan to do?! :)

Asia Times Square

Yesterday I went to eat Pho with my sister & nephew :) We love "Beef Noodle" soup!! If you are a fan of Pho, or want to try it, we highly recommend Pho Hung in Grand Prairie (which is not that far from Dallas if you are visiting & looking for something different to do!) at Asia Times Square. It's where my sister grew up going :)

 After our soup we walked next door to Bambu Desserts & Drinks. This is my drink, the Bambu Special, it was coconut, pandan jelly, longan, and basil seed.

It was an interesting concoction! Luke loved every bit of it! Here he is having some basil seed and a piece of pandan jelly.

And I fed him the coconut after I tore it into smaller pieces, I had no idea how tough fresh coconut is! But that didn't stop him!

 I was not a huge fan of the longan, but the rest of it was yummy!

Sister got green tea ice cream, and Luke was a big fan of that as well! I love green tea ice cream! we will have to go back soon!

 We also walked over to Hong Kong Market, because when in the area, it's a must!

 And they had green tea KitKat from Japan! I had watched a video recently about different candy bars from around the world, and this was one of them. So when I saw it on the shelf I got really excited! They did not disappoint! I would decribe it as green tea flavored white chocolate covering the normal crispy KitKat center. Hubby was also a fan :)

 As we were walking through the produce, my curiosity got the best of me & I bought a banana blossom. Did I know what a banana blossom was? No :) I just wanted to take it home & find out!

 So I peeled off the first petal, and decided it was time to Google. Apparently, this flower grows on the end of a bunch of bananas. And people cook and eat the inner petals like an artichoke. Also, those tiny things on the inside are baby bananas.

I did not take the time to cook any of it, but I did try it. The baby banana dried my mouth out, but didn't have much flavor. I took a bite of one of the tender inner petals, it was bitter and very tough. So in my opinion, banana blossoms are better for looking at than eating.

We had a great day in Asia Times Square! I love being Thai! ;)

Book 5 "Just Like Heaven"

I listened to "Just Like Heaven" by Marc Levy while organizing my craft room (once the room is finished I promise to post pics!). I now have 5 books on my Empty Shelf! This story was not something I expected, but it was enjoyable & easy to follow along with while I was preoccupied. It is a movie, but I have not seen it. This is not a story I would read again, just wasn't that intriguing. But I do like having something going in he background while doing my house work :)

Happy Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! I hope you wore your green today! Of course, I wear green most days :)

More importantly, today is Hubby's 30th birthday!! There are no more 20s in our home!

So I took him out to dinner in Deep Ellum to celebrate! First drinks at The Free Man, where I had an obligatory Irish Car Bomb. Wouldn't order it again, but it's St. Patrick's Day! We will be back here for some Crawfish Boil!

 Then a walk down the street to Cane Rosso for pizza.

 Thin, soft, fire baked crust, with amazing toppings. We will be back here as well! Anyone who puts bacon marmalade & a honey drizzle on pizza, knows their way to our hearts :)

On our way home we stopped for dessert at Sonic. They were, afterall, celebrating Hubby's birthday with half price shakes! It's so nice of them to remember such a special day :)

Happy birthday Hubby, I love you! I'm the luckiest girl ever!

Bishop Arts Fun!

Last weekend, Hubby & I went on a double date with some friends to check out Dallas' only Cidery. We shared a sampling of all 4 of their home brewed ciders, & they did not disappoint. The bartender was so knowledgeable, you would think he owned the place! This will definitely be a place we come back to!

 We decided to walk to Oddfellows for dinner. Their Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese has been on my mind ever since! Chicken tenders covered in buffalo sauce atop a heaping bowl of creamy mac & cheese with blue cheese crumbles sprinkled throughout. I should have taken a picture, but that would have required putting my fork down! ;)

After dinner we were much to full for the best pie you have ever had, so we decided on a nightcap at Whitehall Exchange. I have walked past this place numerous times & always thought their indoor/outdoor bar was a cool concept. It was too cold to take advantage of it this trip though! Which just means we will have to go back :)

 And this Choco-Tini will have me coming back anyway! The perfect dessert drink, but I wouldn't drink more than one - the possibility of a sugar coma would be real! ;)

I am having so much fun trying new places in Dallas! Is there somewhere you think I should add to my list?

Book 4 "One in the Spirit"

The 4th book on my Empty Shelf is "One in the Spirit" by David C. K. Watson. I was excited to read this book from the preface on the very first page! "No one group within the true Church of God has a monopoly of the Spirit's presence. ('One in the Spirit' David C. K. Watson)" I have witnessed first hand people believing only their denomination has the power of the Holy Spirit, it made me very uncomfortable, even though I was a member of this person's denomination at the time. So this book's beginning made me excited to read more!

I quickly found out that this book was not good for my regular bedtime reading! It regularly had me up searching for a pen to underline a point, or had me stopped in my tracks pondering a humbling thought. I felt it was a short, but powerful read!

I don't know if it is still in print being copyrighted in 1973, but if you can get your hands on a copy, I recommend it! I will let you borrow mine if you don't mind my underlining :)

New Fence!

I've been meaning to share this with you since it was completed right after Thanksgiving!

 Getting a new fence has been on our to do list since we bought our home.

 Ghost making his own personal exit in the fence, moved it to the top of the to do list!

 We really needed it though, there weren't many more things Hubby could have done to keep this one standing.

 We got some quotes, looked at some pics, & chose our guy :)

 And I stood in the window taking pics of them tearing out the fence :)

That's not creepy, right?!

 Now we have a beautiful new fence!

 Thank you to Hubby's Mom & Dad for our Christmas gift of helping pay for it! We had to have a fence, but ya'll helped us get a nice beautiful fence!!

Once the weather drys up (this summer) we have to get it stained, then it will show it's awesome cedar color even more!

We got a double wide gate, the small portion is what we use regularly, but the larger side can be opened up to have a 10' opening!
